Answers to common questions and documents for technical review.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install sensors on the machine?

No. SV500 measures voltage and current at the power or control panel with CTs, so the machine itself is untouched. This is why it suits submerged pumps, high fans and hot areas.

How is this different from vibration monitoring?

Vibration sensors watch one point on one machine. Electrical signature analysis sees mechanical faults reflected in the current, and adds electrical faults such as insulation, supply and inverter problems that vibration cannot detect. The two can also be combined.

Is edgeSV hardware, software or SaaS?

All three, depending on how you deploy. The SV500 device includes analysis and a web UI on its own; a server or managed SaaS adds multi-site monitoring, users and long-term history.

How long before diagnosis becomes reliable?

The asset baseline model learns each asset's normal behavior during an initial baseline period that depends on how the asset operates. We agree on this period during the pilot.

Can it connect to our SCADA or BMS?

Yes. Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU are supported as standard. Other interfaces such as MQTT or REST are available by project configuration.

How many assets can one SV500 monitor?

SV500 provides 8 voltage and 8 current channels, including two leakage channels. The number of assets depends on how feeders are wired; our engineers size this from your single-line diagram.
